QUALIFIERS REGISTRATION

Ten qualifying events will be organized in the week immediately
preceding the main tournament. All players in good standing with
their national and international federations are eligible to enter, upon
accomplishing the registration form and paying the entry fee. (See
attached Qualifier Entry Form.)

Each winner of a qualifier gets a spot in the main tournament. As in
past qualifiers, a point system will be established for participating
players joining the qualifiers. Those with the highest points will be
given spots in case qualified players fail to arrive for the main
tournament.

Venue

The venue for the qualifying tournaments is Star Billiards Center, Joy
Street, Grace Village, Quezon City. Tel. (632) 3646041 and Tel. (632)
3678888.

The center features Metro tables. The center will be open from 8 am to
12 pm daily to all players one week from Nov. 19 up to the end of the
WTBC.


Entry Fees

The Entry Fee for a single event is $50.

Entry Fee for five events is $250.

The deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Single-event entries
will
be accepted the day before each event if the fields fall short of 64
players.


Qualifier Rules

Players are allowed to play in only one qualifier per day.

Players signing up for the full tournament package (five events) will be
guaranteed entry to one event per day.

Selection of which event to enter will be on a first-come, first-served
basis. Prepaid single event entrants will be accepted, subject to spaces
being available.


Point System

Every player will be allocated points if he or she finishes in the top 16 of
a qualifying tournament, but does not win it.

The points system will operate as follows: Runner-up – 10 pts; losing
semifinalists – 5 pts; losing quarterfinalists – 3 pts; losing in the last 16
– 1 pt.

The players with the most points at the end of the qualifiers will become
first reserve, second reserve, etc. and will enter the main competition if
any players withdraw.


Prizes

Winner of each qualifier will get a cash prize based on the number of
entries. If there’s a full field of 64 players, first prize is $500.

Players landing in second to fourth place in the qualifier will get a
return of their entry fee.


Format

The tournament format for the qualifiers is single elimination, race to
7, winner’s break. The finals will be race to 9, winner’s break.

The WPA rules for Ten Ball will be applied.
